Web Hosting

There are heaps of companies on the internet that provide paid or free web hosting services. Most free web host companies want you to upgrade to paid web hosting, so they impose bandwidth or storage restrictions, and use advertising popups to make money from your website.

Free hosts I have tried are:
FreeWebs - no popups
Geocities - popups
MySiteInc

Friends have recommended these for free hosting:
Brinkster - no ads, not for commerce
Portland - no ads

Sites listing free hosts include:
0Hosts
FreeWebSpace
100Best Free Web Space

However free web sites have limitations. I was very happy with freewebs for six months until my site got too large and I wanted to design my own forms. I researched several, including serious contenders Host4Profit and SiteBuildIt, but finally chose Kiosk. They are famous for their service, with competitive pricing and an excellent selection of tools and functions aimed at internet marketers. And now even a forced 4x10 matrix. I use their services to generate forms, to run all my autoresponders, my subscriber lists, and host at least 10 different sites. I joined Kiosk on the recommendation of Graham Hamer, after hearing his experiences with false spam complaints and the way Kiosk understood the problem and supported him. Why to choose Kiosk

If your host does not come with FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software for uploading and downloading your files, the easiest one I have used is Coffee Cup Free FTP Software at coffeecup.com.

If it is important for you to be listed in the local version of major search engines, you may need to use a local hosting company. For example - Web Hosts Australia has hosting in Australia, which is invaluable for getting into google.com.au, when people search by country.
